The Reflectoquant Phosphate test includes test strips and all necessary additional reagents. It is suitable for determining orthophosphate in wastewater, soil samples, fertilizers and food. In sulfuric solution orthophosphate ions (PO₄³⁻) react with molybdate ions to form molybdophosphoric acid. This is reduced to phosphomolybdenum blue (PMB) that is determined reflectometrically on the RQflex. For pre-testing a sample in an economic and quick way to estimate the phosphate concentration and a possible dilution factor prior to using this quantitative method we recommend our semi-quantitative MQuant test strips for phosphate.
