APC8 Antibody: Cell cycle regulated protein ubiquitination and degradation within subcellular domains is thought to be essential for the normal progression of mitosis. APC8 is a highly conserved component of the anaphase promoting complex/cyclosome (APC/C), a cell cycle-regulated E3 ubiquitin ligase that controls progression through mitosis and the G1 phase of the cell cycle. APC/C is responsible for degrading anaphase inhibitors, mitotic cyclins, and spindle-associated proteins ensuring that events of mitosis take place in proper sequence. The individual APC/C components mRNA and protein levels are expressed at approximately the same levels in most tissues and cell lines, suggesting that they perform their functions as part of a complex. In Drosophila, silencing of APC8 results in developmental delay and pupal lethality with elevated levels of apoptosis, high mitotic index, and delayed or blocked mitosis.

It is found on a wide variety of tumor cells including follicular and papillary carcinoma of thyroid, adenocarcinomas from endometrium, lung, ovary, pancreas, and breast as well as malignant melanoma, endodermal sinus tumor, and small cell carcinoma. However, CD117 antibody has been particularly useful in differentiating gastrointestinal stromal tumors from Kaposi’s sarcoma, tumors of smooth muscle origin, fibromatosis, and neural tumors of the GI tract. CD117 antibody is also useful in recognizing myeloblasts in bone marrow biopsy and clot section.

The acidic keratins have molecular weights (MW) of 56.5, 55, 51, 50, 50 , 48, 46, 45, and 40kDa. Many studies have shown the usefulness of keratins as markers in cancer research and tumor diagnosis.

The 3H5 monoclonal antibody reacts with mouse CD80, also known as B7-1, a 55 kDa type I transmembrane protein ligand for CD152 (CTLA-4) and for CD28, a co-stimulatory receptor for the T cell receptor (TCR). CD28 also binds a second B7 ligand known as CD86 (B7-2). Both CD80 and CD86 are expressed on activated B cells and antigen-presenting cells. These ligands trigger CD28 signaling in concert with TCR activation to drive T cell proliferation, induce high-level expression of IL-2, impart resistance to apoptosis, and enhance T cell cytotoxicity. The interaction / co-stimulatory signaling between the B7 ligands and CD28 or CTLA-4 provides crucial communication between T cells and B cells or APCs to coordinate the adaptive immune response.
The 3H5 antibody blocks the binding of CD80 to its ligands.

SELK Antibody: SELK is a selenoprotein, containing a selenocysteine residue at its active site. SELK is localized to the endoplasmic reticulum and is highly expressed in the heart, where it may function as an antioxidant. SELK can bind to proteins such as the ER-associated degradation (ERAD) components p97 ATPase, Derlin-1 and -2, and SelS as well as proteins in the oligosaccharyltransferase complex, suggesting that SELK may be involved in the Derlin-dependent ERAD of glycosylated misfolded proteins.
