Potassium iodide, white crystalline powder
Supplier: MP Biomedicals
Potassium Iodide is known as Potassium Salt of Hydriodic Acid [HI], available in white crystalline powder form. It is a mild reducing agent and can be easily oxidized to Iodine by powerful oxidizing agent like chlorine. With elemental iodine it forms I3 (tri iodide), the salts of tri iodide are highly water soluble.
Readily soluble in water.

Starch, soluble, powder ACS
Supplier: Spectrum Chemical Mfg. Corp.
Starch, Soluble, Powder, Reagent, ACS is indicator for redox titrations where triiodide is present. Starch forms a very dark blue-black complex with triiodide which can be made by mixing iodine with iodide (often from potassium iodide). The color of the starch complex is so deep, that it can be detected visually when the concentration of the iodine is as low as 0.00002 M at 20 °C.

Anti-Thyroglobulin Rabbit Polyclonal Antibody
Supplier: Proteintech
Thyroglobulin (Tg) is a glycoprotein homodimer produced predominantly by the thryroid gland. It acts as a substrate for the synthesis of thyroxine and triiodothyronine as well as the storage of the inactive forms of thyroid hormone and iodine. Thyroglobulin is secreted from the endoplasmic reticulum to its site of iodination, and subsequent thyroxine biosynthesis, in the follicular lumen. Mutations in this gene cause thyroid dyshormonogenesis, manifested as goiter, and are associated with moderate to severe congenital hypothyroidism. Polymorphisms in this gene are associated with susceptibility to autoimmune thyroid diseases (AITD) such as Graves disease and Hashimoto thryoiditis.

CHEMets® Peracetic Acid Visual Test Kit
Supplier: CHEMetrics
Test method: The Peracetic Acid CHEMets® test kit (0 to 1 and 0 to 5 ppm) employs the DPD chemistry. The sample is treated with an excess of potassium iodide. Peracetic acid oxidizes the iodide to iodine. The iodine then oxidizes DPD (N,N-diethyl-p-phenylenediamine) to form a pink colored species in direct proportion to the peracetic acid concentration. Various oxidizing agents such as halogens, ferric ions and cupric ions will produce high test results. Hydrogen peroxide does not interfere with this test if present at levels comparable to the peracetic acid levels.
