Human Tropoelastin

Tropoelastin is the precursor to the elastin molecule. Elastin is found in many tissues of the body including the skin, arterial walls and ligaments. Elastin confers strength and elasticity to tissues and organs.

Tropoelastin is not normally available in its native state since it becomes cross-linked immediately after its synthesis by the cell, during its export into the extracellular matrix.

This tropoelastin is produced using recombinant production methods. The product is supplied as a sterile, lyophilized powder containing 1 mg per vial. A Certificate of Analysis is available with the purchase of each product.

Tropoelastin is typically used as a thin coating on tissue culture surfaces. Specific instructions are found in the Directions for Use. This product is generally used in vitro as a substrate scaffold to enhance cell attachment, adherence and proliferation.

TeloCol® Bovine Telocollagen Type I

TeloCol®-6 bovine collagen solution is derived from an acid extraction process yielding a telopeptide-intact collagen. The pro-peptide regions at both ends of the collagen chain, N- and C-telopeptide regions, are maintained.

TeloCol®-6 collagen is approximately 95% Type I collagen with the remainder being comprised of Type III collagen. Each product includes a bottle containing 50 ml of collagen solution accompanied with a bottle of pre-formulated neutralizing solution for the formation of a collagen gel. This product is supplied at a concentration of approximately 6 mg/ml with the concentration for each specific lot provided on the product label and Certificate of Analysis that is available with the purchase of each product. TeloCol®-6 is sterile filtered and provided in user-friendly packaging for use and storage.

TeloCol®-6 is ideal for coating of surfaces, providing preparation of thin layers for culturing cells, or use as a solid gel.

VitroCol® Human Collagen

Advanced BioMatrix VitroCol® collagen is the first widely available, naturally produced purified human collagen for research purposes. VitroCol® sets the standard for purity (>99% collagen content), functionality and represents the only native-like human collagen offered.

VitroCol® collagen is naturally secreted from human neo-natal fibroblast cells. The human fibroblasts are cultured in optimal conditions allowing the fibroblast to naturally and efficiently secret extracellular matrix. The extracellular matrix is then processed and purified to yield the naturally produced human collagen.

VitroCol® is approximately 97% Type I human collagen with the remainder being comprised of Type III collagen. It contains a high monomer content as measured by gel permeation chromatography.

VitroCol® is supplied at approximately 3 mg/ml concentration. The concentration for each specific lot is provided on a Certificate of Analysis that is available with the purchase of each product. VitroCol® is soluble atelo-collagen in 0.01 N HCI, therefore, the pH is approximately 2.0.
