Working individually, students choose a combination of the attributes of three of the five main classes of vertebrates and use the materials in this kit to design and construct their own vertebrates.

• Grades 4 to 6

Each student must justify the characteristics chosen for his/her new vertebrate and describe its role in the ecosystem, including adaptations, type of consumer, predator/prey relationships and habitat. Includes materials for 30 students and instructions.
