About this item
G-Biosciences' Carbohydrate Coupling Resin is designed for the simple and efficient coupling of glycoproteins to a solid agarose support through oxidized sugar groups
G-Biosciences' Carbohydrate Coupling Resin is designed for the covalent immobilization of carbohydrate containing molecules, including glycoproteins, to agarose beads. Carbohydrate-containing molecules are treated with sodium meta-periodate to oxidize their cis-diol groups to aldehydes. The aldehydes spontaneously react with the hydrazide goups on the agarose beads to form stable covalent bonds. The stable nature allows the affinity resin to be used multiple times.
G-Biosciences' Carbohydrate Immobilization kit includes 5 x 2 mL Carbohydrate Coupling spin columns, SpinOUT™ GT-600 Desalting Columns for removing oxidizing reagents, the oxidizing reagent (Sodium meta-periodate) and relevant buffers.
The resin is ideal for immobilized polyclonal antibodies as these are abundant in carbohydrates in their Fc domain. The location in the Fc domain ensures the antibody’s binding site is orientated away from the resin for optimal binding and reduced steric hindrance.
