About this item
Friedman rongeurs are used for cutting and removing bone during a surgical procedure. The jaws of the rongeurs provide a strong, firm grip on the bone being cut. The curved design of the jaw allows for improved access to hard-to-reach areas.
- Double spring handles for better control when cutting through dense material
- 2.5 mm jaw width for extensive bone removal
The jaw shape allows the rongeur to grasp the bone securely, while the sharp cutting edge removes the bone tissue as you squeeze the handles together. The size of Friedman rongeurs is determined by the length of the jaw, and ours are 2.5 cm long. These longer jaws make this model more suited to extensive bone removal.
An instrument with a smaller jaw would be used for more delicate procedures or in confined spaces. The cutting blades are beveled and strong, and the handles are solid, an elegant design for cutting through bone with minimal force. This instrument design reduces trauma to surrounding tissues. These rongeurs are available in medical grade stainless steel and the premium German steel, both of which are corrosion resistant and suitable for autoclaving.
