About this item

Dip N Count® is a semi-quantitative culture test for the detection of various types of bacteria that cause urinary tract infections

This Dip N Count® test provides paddles that combine two culture media types. MacConkey agar with Crystal Violet is a selective and differential medium that supports the growth of gram-negative bacteria and inhibits that of most gram-positive bacteria. C.L.E.D. agar is an electrolyte deficient medium that prevents the characteristic swarming of proteus. The inclusion of lactose allows for the differentiation of lactose fermenting bacteria by changing the color of the medium from pale green to yellow.

Tests should be stored at 4 to 25°C (39.2 to 77°F) for optimum shelf life. Each lot is tested to meet CLSI standards.

The test results can show the presence or absence of potential urinary pathogens, the approximate concentration of bacteria in CFU/mL or CFU/L, and a presumptive identification of the specific bacteria type.

Ordering information: Packaged 10 per box, 10 boxes per case. A quality control certificate is supplied for each lot.
