Unique 'thru-zero' feature allows alarming, counting up, and counting down from 23 hours, 59 minutes, 59 seconds, with one-second resolution. Large, 1.3 cm (¹/₂") high display and LCD digits continuously show time remaining. During countdown, voice reporting frequency is every hour until the last hour is reached, then every 10 minutes until 1 minute is reached, then every 10 seconds until 10 seconds is reached, then every second. Timer also announces elapsed time since alarming. A time-out mode stops the timer for 'off' periods for both up and down timing. In clock mode, timer announces time-of-day. Magnetic backing allows placement of timer on lab refrigerators or incubators. Stand timer on a lab bench using flip-open easel, or clip to a clipboard using the spring fastener.
