Motic’s B1 series has long been a stalwart of reliable microscopy providing a solid platform for imaging. Back in the 2016 to 2017 model year, the B1 was upgraded with new optics and mechanics normally only found in more expensive models to ensure this line’s competitiveness and performance well into the next decade.

The upgrades include changes to the entry level objectives which now start at Motic’s new Semi-Plan configuration. The B1 series also comes equipped with a new rack-less stage, which allows the microscope to be used in different current and future tenders. In order to provide enough light to Brightfield, phase contrast as well as darkfield applications, the illumination has been changed to Motic’s powerful true 3W LED keeping the system cool as well as properly illuminated with steady color-temperature.
