Spacers allow 1, 2, and 5 mm path length cells (with less than 12.5 mm depth) to be securely mounted in a standard cell holder (for 12.5×12.5 mm cells).

• Required when there is no path length adjustment facility in the cell holder
• Quartz block inserts can also be used instead of spacers - they provide more flexibility as each insert provides two different pathlengths selected by rotating through 90 degrees

Spacers or inserts are required for short path length cells that have less than 12.5 mm depth, to ensure secure mounting in a standard cell holder. Agilent offers black anodized aluminum spacers and quartz block inserts for use with 1, 2, and 5 mm path length cells.
