Immerse one of the aluminum legs into ice cold water and the other leg into hot water to demonstrate how heat transfer can be converted to electrical energy. This conversion turns the turbine. Show the reverse effect of converting electrical energy to heat energy by plugging the apparatus into a DC power supply. In this activity, DC current is given to the unit so one of the strips will heat up and the other will remain cold.
