This hotplate stirrer features an efficient, 900-watt infrared heater that can boil a liter of water over 30% faster than a conventional, 1200-watt ceramic hotplate. The chemical-resistant, ceramic top plate has a 5.5" (14 cm) diameter heating area that stays cool around the edges to help prevent accidental burns. ‘Hot’ warning light which flashes whenever the plate temperature is above 50 °C, and operates even when the hotplate is turned off.
