Our suite of specialized media provides our customers with a diverse set of tools to enhance research through consistent and stable environments for cell cultures. Cell Systems media may be used with all primary, immortalized, and established cell lines.

• Based on a modified and optimized basal DMEM/F12 (1:1)
• Contain serum at 10% by volume

Our best-selling medium is optimized for use in experimental cell cultures. This medium is formulated with 10% serum. Kit consists of 500 ml Cell Systems Medium, 5 ml CultureBoost™ (containing animal derived growth factors) and 10 ml Attachment Factor™ (extracellular matrix reagent for coating flasks). This becomes a complete medium once activated with the included CultureBoost™ supplement. 4Z0-500 is Certified and intended for experimental application.

Cell Systems Medium contains no added hormones. or antibiotics; however, Bac-Off® (103810-712), is the recommended antibiotic for all Cell Systems medium. Bac-Off® is at or above the (2 ng/lL) MIC of aerobic gram-positive and gram-negative microorganisms.

Cell Systems Medium contains no phenol red. Phenol red in cell culture medium binds to receptors on cell surfaces and causes the cell to respond as though pharmacologic levels of estrogen and/or inflammatory mediators (such as prostaglandin or thromboxane A2) are present in the medium. We exclude this unnecessary additive in order to optimize experimental conditions for researchers.

Storage: If the entire unit will not be used within 30 days, aliquot and freeze in smaller units which will be used within 30 days. Otherwise, immediately refrigerate the medium. Once opened, the shelf life is 30 days at refrigerated (2 to 8 °C) temperatures.
For best results, use Cell Systems Medium in conjunction with cell culture vessels coated with Attachment Factor™ extracellular matrix reagent.
