Temperature is primarlily maintained by radiated heat, preventing hotspots forming and cultures drying out. The environmentally friendly water blown foam insulation, together with the gentle air circulation system makes an inner door unnecessary. The doors close automatically if opened at an angle of less than 90°, door hinges can easily be moved from one side of the incubator to the other if required. Models 400 and 600 have casters to allow moving, once positioned, they can be levelled with adjustable feet.

Units can operate at a temperature of 1 K above a stable ambient temperature, allowing the incubator to be used without cooling wherever possible to save resources. HTS trays (one size fits all incubator models) run on telescopic rails which allows them to be pulled out up to 70 % so samples at the back corners are easily accessable.
