Low-bleed columns developed for mass spectrometers and the analysis of semi-volatile pollutants.
- Low bleed
- High degree of inertness
- Internal dimensions and film thickness vary between models
The synthesis and bonding procedures for the Rtx®-5MS were modified from standard 5% phenyl polymers to address specific bleed concerns by mass spectroscopists with attention being paid to reduce bleed fragments and baseline rise.
Note: The DB-5MS is a silarylene-based polymer equivalent to the Rxi-5Sil MS.
Each column is shipped with the actual test chromatograph that demonstrates the high degree of inertness for stringent environmental compounds and shows minimal baseline rise at the upper operating temperature. Also included is a test chromatogram showing the polymer bleed profile by a sensitive MS detector. Phase composition: crossbonded 5% diphenyl, 95% dimethylpolysiloxane. Temperature range: –60 to 330/350 °C (–76 to 626/662 °F).
