These Cogent Bidentate C8™ phases are moderately hydrophobic and for that reason are a good starting column when scouting for compounds of unknown polarity. They will perform in Normal Phase (NP), Reversed Phase (RP) and Aqueous Normal Phase (ANP).

These C8 columns are produced with two points of attachment to the particle via direct silicon-carbon bonds.

All Cogent TYPE-C™ HPLC columns are made with silica hydride particles.

This makes them very unique and extremely stable under even harsh HPLC conditions producing excellent selectivity with efficient peaks. The service life time of these columns far exceeds normal C8 column expectations. Also, the Bidentate C8 does not need to be end-capped due the nature of the silica hydride surface.
