The gWiz vector obtains its exceptional gene expression levels from an optimized human cytomegalovirus (CMV) promoter followed by intron A from the CMV immediate-early (IE) gene. In addition, the gWiz vector contains an optimized plasmid backbone that has been extensively altered to achieve abundant plasmid production in E.coli.
