Terra Core™ Kits are used for current EPA 5035 Method for soil collection and preservation in the field.
A Certificate of Analysis and Cleaning Protocol Form is included in the product case for Pre-cleaned and Certified products. The cleaning protocol for Terra Core™ Kits is a B1 process.
A lot certificate of analysis is generated with the analytical results obtained, including the concentration reporting limits and units of measurement, for Pre-cleaned and Certified products. This certificate of analysis is included in each product case.
All glass vials are clear borosilicate Type 1 glass 40 ml in volume (27.5 Ext.Ø × 95 mm H), and use a 24-414 closure. All vials are barcoded. The vial caps can be either one-piece Open Top polypropylene with PTFE septa ultrasonically bonded (not glued), or a two-piece Open Top polypropylene cap with pressure fitted PTFE septa. The PTFE septa is a 3.1 mm fluoropolymer resin/silicone septa laminate (overall thickness 0.125", ±0.006", silicone thickness 0.115", PTFE 0.010"). The 60 cc bulk soil jar is a certified amber glass wide mouth bottle, 33-400 finish, with a white solid top polypropylene cap. Each kit also includes a 5 g Terra Core™ syringe.
Glass vials are used for the collection and testing of solid matrix samples for Volatile Organic Analysis and Total Petroleum Hydrocarbons (TPH). Purge and Trap grade Methanol-preserved vials are used for high level VOC analyses (>200 µg/kg). DI-water preserved or Sodium bisulfate-preserved vials are used for low level VOC analyses (<200 µg/kg). Please refer to the applicable Certificate of Analysis for certified analytes and corresponding reporting limits. Each Terra Core™ Kit also includes a bulk glass jar for % moisture determination and headspace evaluation, and one disposable plastic Terra Core™ syringe. The components of each kit, vials and bottle, are individually packaged in a die-cut foam cradle and placed in a zip-top plastic bag and boxed. Each case contains eight kits.
