About this item
Bonded phases are more resistant to oxidation than non-bonded phases because of the stronger intermolecular forces produced by cross-linking.
- Low bleed levels
- Longer column lifetime
- Short conditioning times
- Siltek®-treated stainless steel
- Modified version of Chromosorb W; highest inertness, most consistent performance
- Application specific column
Bonded phases are used in capillary columns because they provided a dramatic increase in column quality.
Solvent rinsing during the manufacturing process removes low molecular weight polymer fragments that contribute to long conditioning cycle times. Restek's bonded packings usually stabilize in 30 minutes or less. Because the bleed is lower with bonded phases, detectors can be operated at higher sensitivities and the need for data system bleed compensation is greatly reduced.
Now packed column chromatographers can expect shorter conditioning times, lower bleed, and longer column lifetime by using Restek bonded phase packed columns. Because the material is thoroughly cross-linked, the phase will not sag, as often happens with non-bonded phases.
