Antioxidant

Synthetic

Antioxidant comparable to resveratrol (Prod. No. BML-FR104). Is converted to hydroxytyrosol through hydrolysis by esterases. Reaches full oxygen radical absorbance capacity (ORAC) when converted to free hydoxytyrosol. ORAC values of hydroxytyrosol are about 50% higher than resveratrol, 10-fold higher than L(+)-ascorbic acid and 4-fold higher than (-)-epicatechin. Has been shown to have anticancer and antiviral effects.Antibacterial at 400µg/mL against Streptococcus pyogenes, Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli and Klebsiella pneumoniae.
