The ALAD enzyme is composed of 8 identical subunits and catalyzes the condensation of 2 molecules of delta-aminolevulinate to form porphobilinogen (a precursor of heme, cytochromes and other hemoproteins). ALAD catalyzes the second step in the porphyrin and heme biosynthetic pathway; zinc is essential for enzymatic activity. ALAD enzymatic activity is inhibited by lead and a defect in the ALAD structural gene can cause increased sensitivity to lead poisoning and acute hepatic porphyria. The ALAD enzyme is composed of 8 identical subunits and catalyzes the condensation of 2 molecules of delta-aminolevulinate to form porphobilinogen (a precursor of heme, cytochromes and other hemoproteins). Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been identified.
ALAD antibody can be used for detection of ALAD by ELISA at 1:62500. ALAD antibody can be used for detection of ALAD by western blot at 0.25 ?g/mL, and HRP conjugated secondary antibody should be diluted 1:50,000 - 100,000.
Antibody is purified by peptide affinity chromatography method.
Antibody is lyophilized in PBS buffer with 2% sucrose. Add 50 ?L of distilled water. Final antibody concentration is 1 mg/mL.
Aliquot and store at -20°C or below. Avoid multiple freeze-thaw cycles.
