About this item
CMU heating mantles are used in wet chemistry to heat liquids in round bottom flasks
Ideal for use in fume hoods or remote working applications. The device must be used with a controller; recommended controllers are the MC5 and MC242. Electromantles accommodate round bottom flasks in capacities between 50mL and 5000mL. Element allows temperatures up to 450°C (842°F). Indicator lamps are provided for power and heater operation. Replaceable insulated heater cartridges are available. The rugged, easy to clean, powder-coated aluminium casing ensures long life and durability. Non-skid feet and support clamps are included (support rods not included). Flexible coiled heating elements absorb shock, minimizing the risk of flask breakage. The heating element is attached to a rigid thermal insulating cartridge to ensure maximum heat transfer and support. Standard safety features include a grounded earth stainless steel screen covering the heating element and double fuses.
The metal case is designed to remain "cool-to-the-touch" when in operation. Electrothermal heating mantles have a grounded stainless steel earth screen covering the element and are double fused for added safety.
