Specifically designed for collection, transport, and storage of urine specimens, Simport Scientific's SpecTainer™ is a shatter-resistant polypropylene container that eliminates tthe problems of leakage and evaporation

The eco-friendly SpecTainer™ will biodegrade in less than 7 years when in constant contact with the soil. No heat, physical stress, oxygen, or sunlight is necessary. Containers do not contain any metals, nor leave any toxic residue. Available in two unique models, containers and caps are manufactured without the use of plasticisers or mold release agents. Materials used in manufacturing are latex-free. All containers are 95kpa compliant. Available in many sizes, from 60 to 120mL.

The SpecTainer™ I urine container incorporates a "soda bottle" type tamper-evident mechanism. By simply screwing the cap on the container, the tamper-evident sealing ring will automatically lock itself over the container threads. When unscrewed, the ring is detached from the cap, showing clearly that the container was opened.

The SpecTainer™ II sample container is supplied with a standard leakproof screw cap.

Each container is supplied with a patient identification label. Sterile containers are supplied with a tamper-evident label as well as a patient identification label.

Containers are manufactured from virgin, high-clarity polypropylene. The lids are ribbed for easy opening when hands are wet or gloved. Jars are stackable for easy and safe storage. They are translucent to allow specimens to be viewed without opening. Caps are manufactured from virgin polyethylene and feature an integrated leak-resistant seal.
