The capacity of the Criterion™ Blotter is 2 midi-sized or 4 mini-sized gels

Transfers in 30 min to 1 hr for most proteins
Overnight transfer at lower voltages
Assembly tray for gel soaking, sandwich assembly, and ensuring correct orientation of gels and blots
Cooling unit is sufficient for absorbing heat during most transfers
Color-coded, easy-lock cassettes
Optional cooling coil for precise temperature control
Overflow chambers keep the laboratory bench dry

Blotters are available with a choice of plate or wire electrodes. Durable plate electrodes consist of a platinum-coated titanium anode and a stainless steel cathode. Wire electrodes are platinum.

The close spacing of the electrodes (4.3 cm) provides a high field strength and allows rapid transfer with one or two cassettes.

: All Criterion™ Blotter Systems include a buffer tank with plate or wire electrodes, lid with power cables, two color-coded gel holder cassettes, absorbent filter paper, four foam pads, gel/blot assembly tray, roller, and sealed ice block.
