Heads serve as the receiving vessel in microscale distillation apparatuses during mixture purification procedures. With the glass surface that cools rising vapors, the devices trap the returning liquid inside circular depressions at the base of the tube. Ported formats make solvent collection less demanding as retrieval can be completed without dismantling the apparatus.
