Atomisers
Atomizers are for spraying reagents onto thin layer chromatography plates. Many reagent atomizers have a screw-thread joint for connecting the sprayer head to the flask, and sprays can operate on very little air pressure, making them functional in a range of environmental conditions. Atomizers provide a uniform spray mist of visualization agents for both thin layer and paper chromatography. Certain sprayers feature specially designed heads to eliminate the formation of droplets and spattering.

The Merck TLC sprayer allows derivatisation reagents to be sprayed homogeneously onto developed chromatograms. It is equipped with two different spray heads, (0,8 and 1,25 mm), that are optimised for low and high viscosity solutions respectively. The electro-pneumatically operated sprayer uses compressed air-driven by accumulator power and inductive charging.
