D-(+)-Sucrose, white crystalline powder ACS
Supplier: MP Biomedicals
Simple carbohydrate. Sucrose is hydrolyzed to glucose and fructose by dilute acids and by invertase, a yeast enzyme. Upon hydrolysis the optical rotation falls and is negative when the hydrolysis is complete. The mixture of glucose and fructose is known as "Invert sugar".

Ammonium thiocyanate ≥97.5% ACS
Supplier: Thermo Fisher Scientific
Ammonium thiocyanate has many uses in manufacturing chemicals such as metal thiocyanates [CuSCN, Ca(SCN)2, NaSCN, KSCN], and in a number of pharmaceuticals. It is used in freezing solutions, pickling, printing, and corrosion inhibitor against acid gases. It is used in photography industry as a stabilizer or accelerator. Used in fertilizers, fabric dyeing, zinc coating, electroplating, and as a separator of Zr and Hf, also Au and Fe.

Dimethyl sulphoxide ≥99.9%, clear, colourless liquid ACS
Supplier: MP Biomedicals
Dimethyl sulfoxide is a dipolar, aprotic solvent. Has been shown to accelerate strand renaturation (1-10% concentration) and is believed to give the nucleic acid thermal stability against depurination.

Succinic acid ≥99%, powder ACS
Supplier: MP Biomedicals
Succinic acid is a dicarboxylic acid that occurs in nature in such organisms as fungi and lichens. In eukaryotes, succiniate, the anion of succinic acid, is an intermediate in the citric acid cycle, being formed from succinyl CoA and being converted to fumarate. Bacteria and plants can produce succinate from acetate or acetyl CoA, in the glyoxylate cycle.

Dimethyl sulphoxide for molecular biology
Supplier: MP Biomedicals
Storage: Room Temperature, desiccate, store under nitrogen.
Dimethyl Sulfoxide is a dipola, aprotic solvent. It has been shown to accelerate strand renaturation (1-10% concentration) and is believed to give the nucleic acid thermal stability against depurination.
Dimethyl Sulfoxide is used to enhance dermal absorption of many chemicals, as a solvent for many organic and inorganic compounds including fats, carbohydrates, dyes, resins, and polymers, in antifreeze or hydraulic fluids, as a cryopreservative for cell cultures, oxidation of thiols and disulfides to sulfonic acids, as a PCR cosolvent to help improve yields, especially in long PCR. DMSO is routinely used in polymerase chan reaction (PCR), amplification of cDNA libraries, DNA sequencing, column-loading buffers for poly (A)+ RNA selection, buffers for the transformation of competent E. coli, and transfection protocols.
To prepare sterile solutions use a teflon or nylon membrane to sterile-filter the DMSO - do not use a cellulose acetate membrane.
