The ASP300 S is a freestanding, fully enclosed vacuum tissue processor for programmable processing of histological tissue specimens. The instrument features three pressure/vacuum options as well as the further option of processing under ambient conditions. Processing temperatures are programmable for each step: 10 reagent stations, three paraffin wax baths, three cleaning stations plus an optional connection for an external cleaning station. The 4,5 litre processing retort is made of electropolished stainless steel for easy cleaning with a contact-free optical sensor to check the fluid level. Retort capacity for up to 300 standard cassettes when using metal baskets or 252 standard cassettes when using the microwave resistant basket set for ASP300 S (optional accessory). An easy-to-use remote reagent handling system can drain and refill reagent bottles from bulk containers via the retort and a hose plugged into the processor module. The three-step retort draining system is tailored to minimise reagent carry-over. A multi-language touch screen user interface combined with a graphical programme display allows even junior operators to quickly become familiar with the system.
