The POLARstar Omega is high speed full spectrum absorbance multidetection microplate reader with simultaneous dual emission detection and fluorescence polarisation. Modes include standard fluorescence, time-resolved fluorescence, fluorescence polarisation (anisotropy), UV/Vis absorbance (OD) measurement of complete spectra or individual wavelengths and high performance luminescence.

The POLARstar Omega offers all the features of the FLUOstar Omega plus a unique simultaneous dual emission detection system, which allows the detection of two emitted wavelengths at the same time. Simultaneous Dual Emission Detection is especially useful for FRET, TR-FRET, BRET and Fluorescence Polarisation assays. Like all readers in the Omega range the POLARstar Omega benefits from the unique UV/Vis spectrometer providing spectral data acquisition quicker than any traditional scanning technology.

The unit can be configured with on-board 'smart' injectors and has a temperature controlled incubation chamber with an extended range to 60 °C option. The wavelength range for standard and TR fluorescence is 240 nm to 740 nm (extended wavelength to 900 nm is available, please enquire for details). For higher throughput the POLARstar Omega can be integrated into most types of robotic systems from a variety of manufacturers or used with a 50-plate stacker with an integrated barcode reader (please ask for details).

The POLARstar Omega is certified by Promega for the Dual Luciferase Reporter (DLR™) gene assay, certified by CisBio Bioassays for their HTRF® assay platform, and has LanthaScreen™ certified plus status. It is also validated from Bellbrook Labs for Transcreener® in 96-well plate format.

Delivery information: Supplied with 2 filter wheels with 8 excitation and 8 emission filter positions; 4 excitation and 4 emission filters (specify on ordering) and Windows™ based control software and MARS data reduction software.
