Cesium chloride, an inorganic compound, is an important source of cesium ions in a variety of applications. Its crystal structure forms a major structural type where each cesium ion is coordinated by 8 chlorine ions. Cesium chloride occurs naturally in mineral waters and as an impurity in carnallite (up to 0.002%), sylvite and kainite. Less than 20 tonnes of CsCl is produced annually worldwide, mostly from a cesium-bearing mineral pollucite.

IBMX has been shown to be a potent, non-specific inhibitor of adenosine 3',5'-cyclic monophosphate phosphodiesterase (cAMP PDE)4, significantly more effective than theophylline. Also inhibits cGMP phosphodiesterases. Sulfobromophthalein (BSP) is a dye with a high affinity for organic anion transporting polypeptides (OATPs) and has been used as a substrate for multidrug resistance associated protein 2 (Mrp2). BSP is transported into hepatocytes by OATPs and, after conjugation to glutathione, is excreted into bile by Mrp2. It was found to inhibit the aldo-keto reductase ARK1C20.

Polyethylene glycol (PEG) is a condensation polymer of ethylene oxide and water. PEGs are susceptible to oxidative degradation in the presence of air. Minimizing the exposure of PEG to elevated temperatures and/or exposure to oxygen, or addition of an antioxidant can limit the amount of degradation. PEGs do not hydrolyze or deteriorate upon storage. PEGs do not support the growth of molds. PEG is incompatible with phenol and may reduce the antimicrobial action of other preservatives.

Protamine sulphate is a purified mixture of simple protein principles obtained from the sperm or testes of suitable species of fish, which has the property of neutralizing heparin. Because of having much basic amino acids (mostly arginine) protamine contains far greater nitrogen than other proteins. Its molecular weight is relatively small. Histone and other basic proteins in the testes of unmatured fishes convert into protamine along with the growth of the fishes. In the testes protamine takes the form of nucleoprotamine linked with DNA.

Ampicillin sodium salt is a semi-synthetic derivative of penicillin, active as a broad-spectrum antibiotic. It is inactivated by beta-lactamases and for this reason a beta-lactamase inhibitor should be considered when using ampicillin. Against gram-positive bacteria, ampicillin has a similar mode of action as benzylpenicillin; against gram-negative bacteria, it has a similar mode of action as chloramphenicol and tetracyclines. Heparin is a polymer classified as a mucopolysaccharide or a glycosoaminoglycan. It is biosynthesized and stored in mast cells of various mammalian tissues, particularly liver, lung and mucosa. It is made up of repeated disaccharide units consisting of 1,4-linked L-iduronic acid and D-glucosamine. The iduronic acid residues are O-sulfated at position 2, and the glucosamine residues are N-sulfated and O-sulfated at position 6. The repeated block can be interrupted or extended by residues of beta-D-glucuronic acid and 6-O-sulfated N-acetyl-alpha-D-glucosamine.
