Latex agglutination test, Wellcolex®

Supplier: THERMO FISHER DIAGNOSTICS

Wellcolex® Rapid Latex Agglutination test kits are designed for rapid and accurate identification of enteric bacteria, such as Salmonella, Shigella and E.coli. With its high positive and negative predictive values (PPV >98,7%) and results in less than three minutes, laboratories can use this rapid screening test to eliminate Salmonella-negative samples from further testing, reducing the number of samples requiring confirmatory testing.

Latex toxin detection kits, RPLA

Supplier: THERMO FISHER DIAGNOSTICS

The technique of reversed passive latex agglutination (RPLA) enables soluble antigen such as bacterial toxins to be detected in an agglutination assay. In a standard agglutination assay, soluble antibody reacts with particulate antigen such as bacterial cells. However, in a reversed agglutination assay the antibody, which is attached to particles, reacts with the soluble antigen. The particles (in this case, latex) do not themselves play a part in the reaction and they are therefore passive.
