About this item
Cyanide distilling apparatus made of PYREX® borosilicate glass to determine soluble and insoluble cyanides in water.
- Very good chemical resistance
- High temperature resistance
- Minimal thermal expansion giving relatively high resistance to temperature changes
Cyanide, as hydrocyanic acid (HCN), is released from cyanide complexes by means of a reflux-distillation and is absorbed in a scrubber containing a sodium hydroxide solution. Tygon® tubing connects the reaction/distillation section to the absorption scrubber, making set-up easier and less susceptible to glass breakage. Inlet tubes have funnel openings for easy addition of acid. Sample capacity: 500 ml.
Certifications: Apparatus meets the requirements of E.P.A. SW-846 methods 9010 and 9012, and ASTM method D-2036.
Ordering information: Apparatus includes a 1 L two-neck boiling flask, cold finger condenser, condenser jacket, dispersion tube, distillation trap tube, inlet tube, and Tygon® tubing.
