Trubbiga, avsmalnande eller runda spatelspetsar i alla storlekar är konstruerade för att inte skrapa eller skada ytan vid hantering. Spateln har en platt, non-stick-yta för att minska förlust av provet. Mycket resistenta, spatlerna kan tåla frätande lösningsmedel och extrem temperaturbehandling.
