Biologiska buffertar

Biologiska buffertar är inerta och har kortvariga effekter på det undersökta systemet, vilket är en tydlig fördel jämfört med de oorganiska ämnen och svaga organiska syror som användes tidigare. De flesta biologiska buffertar som används idag är N-substituerade taurin- eller glycinbuffertar, vilka uppfyller de flesta krav som ställs på biologiska buffertar. Buffertsystem används vanligtvis i experiment för att möjliggöra en direkt jämförelse av resultaten.
