Klenow (3'-5' exo-) (from E. coli carrying the Klenow (3'-5' exo-) gene)
Supplier: ENZO LIFE SCIENCES
Klenow (3′-5′ exo-) is a mesophilic DNA polymerase deficient in both proofreading (3′-5′) and nick-translation (5′-3′) nuclease activities, and that displays a moderate strand displacement activity during DNA synthesis. The protein is expressed as a truncated product of the E.coli PolA gene and contains the D355A and E357A mutations.

A cluster of genes, BAT1-BAT5, has been localized in the vicinity of the genes for TNF alpha and TNF beta. This gene is found near this cluster; it was mapped near the gene for C2 within a 120-kb region that included a HSP70 gene pair. These genes are all within the human major histocompatibility complex class III region. This gene was thought to be two different genes, NG36 and G9a, adjacent to each other but a recent publication shows that there is only a single gene. The protein encoded by this gene is thought to be involved in intracellular protein-protein interaction. There are three alternatively spliced transcript variants of this gene but only two are fully described. [provided by RefSeq, Jul 2008].

Anti-ITM5 Rabbit Polyclonal Antibody (Cy5)
Supplier: Bioss
IFITM5 is a membrane protein thought to play a role in bone mineralisation. This gene is located on chromosome 11 in a cluster of related genes which are induced by interferon, however, this gene has not been shown to be interferon inducible. A similar gene, located in a gene cluster on mouse chromosome 7, is a member of the interferon-inducible fragilis gene family. The mouse gene encodes a transmembrane protein described as participating in germ cell competence. A mutation in the 5' UTR of this gene has been associated with osteogenesis imperfecta type V (PMID: 22863190, 22863195).

Anti-APOC4 Rabbit Polyclonal Antibody (Cy3®)
Supplier: Bioss
This gene encodes a lipid-binding protein belonging to the apolipoprotein gene family. The protein is thought to play a role in lipid metabolism. Polymorphisms in this gene may influence circulating lipid levels and may be associated with coronary artery disease risk. This gene is present in a cluster with other related apolipoprotein genes on chromosome 19. Naturally occurring read-through transcription exists between this gene and the neighboring downstream apolipoprotein C-II (APOC2) gene.

Summary: This gene encodes a member of the p34Cdc2 protein kinase family. p34Cdc2 kinase family members are known to be essential for eukaryotic cell cycle control. This gene is in close proximity to CDC2L2, a nearly identical gene in the same chromosomal region. The gene loci including this gene, CDC2L2, as well as metalloprotease MMP21/22, consist of two identical, tandemly linked genomic regions which are thought to be a part of the larger region that has been duplicated. This gene and CDC2L2 were shown to be deleted or altered frequently in neuroblastoma with amplified MYCN genes. The protein kinase encoded by this gene could be cleaved by caspases and was demonstrated to play roles in cell apoptosis. Several alternatively spliced variants of this gene have been reported.

This gene belongs to the chemokine-like factor gene superfamily, a novel family that is similar to the chemokine and the transmembrane 4 superfamilies. This gene is one of several chemokine-like factor genes located in a cluster on chromosome 3. This gene is widely expressed in many tissues, but the exact function of the encoded protein is unknown.
