In line with the GHS (Global Harmonised System), identification elements need to be attached to chemical containers - in particular new warning symbols, hazard statements and safety data sheets. The new identification elements have been mandatory since 21 January 2009 and supplement the REACH regulation on the registration, evaluation, authorisation and restriction of chemicals.
