This antibody is specific to a protein of 62 kDa identified as cyclin B1. Cyclin B1 expression is restricted to a specific short period of the cell cycle with cyclin B1 expression detected earlier and peaking in concentration before cyclin B2 expression. In a majority of tumors, positive staining with cyclin B corresponds to the proliferative status of the tumor.
