Fixable viability staining kits
About this item
Live-or-Dye™ Fixable Viability Staining Kits are designed for discrimination between live and dead cells during flow cytometry or microscopy.
- Highly dead-cell specific
- Covalent labelling with reactive dyes
- Withstand fixation and permeabilisation
- The most available colours
- Dye options designed for spectral flow
Live-or-Dye™ Fixable Viability Stains are cell membrane impermeable amine-reactive dyes. The dyes are able to enter into dead cells that have compromised membrane integrity and covalently label free amines on intracellular proteins. On live cells, the dyes react with surface proteins, but these are much less abundant than intracellular proteins, resulting in low staining levels compared to dead cells. Live-or-Dye™ labelling is extremely stable, allowing the cells to be fixed and permeabilised without loss of fluorescence or dye transfer between cells. The Live-or-Dye™ staining protocol has been optimised to maximise live/dead discrimination with minimal live cell staining, in order to prevent interference with immunostaining.

The dyes are named for their excitation/emission wavelengths. Choose from a wide variety of colours with fluorescence from UV to near-IR. Live-or-Dye™ 488/515, 568/583, 594/614, & 640/662 can be used for either flow cytometry or fluorescence microscopy. Live-or-Dye™ 510/550 & 665/685 have been validated for use in spectral flow cytometry on the Cytek® Aurora. Live-or-Dye™ 787/808 offers the best performance for the 808 laser line, effectively freeing up the channels in the visible spectrum.
Kit Components:
Live-or-Dye™ Fixable Viability Dye
Anhydrous DMSO
Beställningsinformation: Number of assays is based on 1 ml reaction size (106cells); actual number of assays may vary depending on staining volume.
