The XDS pumps are used as a patented bearing shield to isolate the vacuum environment from all forms of lubricant, not only making it totally dry, but hermetically sealed. The shield also protects the bearing from any process vapours. Adjustable gas ballast allows vapour to be handled and opens up the range of applications to many that were previously unsuited to scroll pumps. The XDS-C range are designed for pumping condensable vapors and use materials selected for a wide range of laboratory wet chemistry applications.

ATEX RV pumps have an external ATEX classification of Ex II 2G IIC T4 or Ex II 2G IIB T4 and internal ATEX classification Ex II 3G c IIB T4. They are suitable for use in potentially explosive atmospheres such as hazardous area pumping. They are supplied with the gas ballast port which must be fitted with an inert gas purge while pumping flammable gasses or vapours to dilute such gases or vapours below the lower explosive limit.

These high performance rotary pumps are used in many industrial and laboratory applications. They offer the option of high throughput or high ultimate vacuum by the adjustment of a single control. RV pumps can be run continuosly with inlet pressures up to 50 mbar or can be set to achieve an ultimate partial pressure of 1×10⁻⁴ mbar. For drying applications the water handling capability is 290 g per hour at vapour pressures up to 80 mbar (RV 12).
