Anti-SYN1 Rabbit Polyclonal Antibody

Anti-SYN1 Rabbit Polyclonal Antibody

Supplier: Prosci

Synapsin I plays a key role in synaptic plasticity in brain. This effect is due in large part to the ability of the synapsins to regulate the availability of synaptic vesicles for release. In addition to its role in plasticity, the expression of synapsin I is a precise indicator of synapse formation. Thus synapsin I immunocytochemistry provides a valuable tool for the study of synaptogenesis. The role of synapsin in synaptic plasticity and in synaptogensis is regulated by phosphorylation. Serine 9 is the site on synapsin I that is phosphorylated by cAMP-dependent protein kinase and by calcium calmodulin kinase I. Phosphorylation of this site is thought to regulate synaptic vesicle function.

Anti-MAGEA1 Mouse Monoclonal Antibody [clone: MAAZ2]

Supplier: Prosci

The MAGE family of genes codes an important group of antigens. It was identified that melanomas and primary glial brain tumors express common melanoma associated antigens (MAAs). Because MAGE-1 is expressed on a significant proportion of human neoplasms of various histological types (melanoma, brain tumors of glial origin, neuroblastoma, non-small cell lung cancer, breast, gastric, colorectal, ovarian, renal cell carcinomas) and not on normal tissues, the encoded antigen may serve as a marker of early detection and target for cancer immunotherapy.

Anti-MRPL9 Rabbit Polyclonal Antibody

Anti-MRPL9 Rabbit Polyclonal Antibody

Supplier: Prosci

Mammalian mitochondrial ribosomal proteins are encoded by nuclear genes and help in protein synthesis within the mitochondrion. Mitochondrial ribosomes (mitoribosomes) consist of a small 28S subunit and a large 39S subunit. They have an estimated 75% protein to rRNA composition compared to prokaryotic ribosomes, where this ratio is reversed. Another difference between mammalian mitoribosomes and prokaryotic ribosomes is that the latter contain a 5S rRNA. Among different species, the proteins comprising the mitoribosome differ greatly in sequence, and sometimes in biochemical properties, which prevents easy recognition by sequence homology. This gene encodes a 39S subunit protein. A pseudogene corresponding to this gene is found at 8q21.11. [provided by RefSeq].

Anti-ANTXR1 Rabbit Polyclonal Antibody

Anti-ANTXR1 Rabbit Polyclonal Antibody

Supplier: Rockland Immunochemical

The Anthrax toxin receptor (ATR) was initially discovered as the tumor endothelial marker 8 (TEM8). This protein, which exists in three isoforms (36, 40, and 60 kDa), is highly expressed in tumor vessels as well as in the vasculature of developing embryos, suggesting that it may normally play a role in angiogenesis. However, it also acts as the receptor for anthrax toxin. Following the binding of this protein by the protective antigen (PA) of anthrax, PA is cleaved and heptamerizes to form the binding site for both edema factor (EF) and lethal factor (LF). This complex is then endocytosed by the cell; acidification in endosomes allows the release of EF and LF into the cytoplasm where they interfere with MAPK signaling and induce apoptosis.

Anti-GRIA4 Rabbit Polyclonal Antibody

Anti-GRIA4 Rabbit Polyclonal Antibody

Supplier: Prosci

Glutamate receptors are the predominant excitatory neurotransmitter receptors in the mammalian brain and are activated in a variety of normal neurophysiologic processes. These receptors are heteromeric protein complexes composed of multiple subunits, arranged to form ligand-gated ion channels. The classification of glutamate receptors is based on their activation by different pharmacologic agonists. The subunit encoded by this gene belongs to a family of AMPA (alpha-amino-3-hydroxy-5-methyl-4-isoxazole propionate)-sensitive glutamate receptors, and is subject to RNA editing (AGA->GGA; R->G). Alternative splicing of this gene results in transcript variants encoding different isoforms, which may vary in their signal transduction properties. Some haplotypes of this gene show a positive association with schizophrenia. [provided by RefSeq].

Anti-KMT2A Rabbit Polyclonal Antibody

Anti-KMT2A Rabbit Polyclonal Antibody

Supplier: Prosci

The gene variously symbolized ALL1, HRX, or MLL located on 11q23 has been demonstrated to be fused with a number of translocation partners in cases of leukemia. Tse et al. (1995) characterized 2 t(1;11)(q21;q23) translocations that fused the MLL gene to a gene on chromosomal band 1q21, AF1Q, in 2 infants with acute myelomonocytic leukemia. In one of these patients, the derivative chromosome 11 represented an in-frame fusion of the N-terminal portion of the MLL gene to the complete AF1Q open reading frame, whereas the derivative chromosome 1 did not give rise to an open reading frame. This observation suggested that the N-terminal portion of the MLL gene is critical for leukemogenesis in translocations involving band 11q23.

Anti-TNFRSF17 Rabbit Polyclonal Antibody

Anti-TNFRSF17 Rabbit Polyclonal Antibody

Supplier: Rockland Immunochemical

Members in the TNF superfamily regulate immune responses and induce apoptosis. Two novel members in the TNF family were recently identified and designated BAFF/BLyS/TALL-1/THANK/zTNF4 and April/TALL-2, respectively. BAFF was characterized as a B cell activator since it induced B cell proliferation and immunoglobulin secretion. April regulates immunological and non-immunological cell growth. Three receptors, BCMA (for B cell maturation protein), TACI, and BAFF-R, for BAFF were recently identified. BCMA, like TACI, binds BAFF and April. BAFF and its receptors induce B cell development and survival, activate NF-kB and c-jun N-terminal kinase, and are involved in B cell associated autoimmune diseases.

Mouse Recombinant Flt3-Ligand (from E. coli)

Supplier: Peprotech

Flt3-Ligand is a growth factor that regulates proliferation of early hematopoietic cells. Flt3-Ligand binds to cells expressing the tyrosine kinase receptor Flt3. Flt3-Ligand, by itself does not stimulate proliferation of early hematopoietic cells, but synergizes with other CSFs and interleukins to induce growth and differentiation. Unlike SCF, Flt3-Ligand exerts no activity on mast cells. Multiple isoforms of Flt3-Ligand have been identified. The predominant biologically active form is anchored to the cell surface as the extracellular domain of a transmembrane protein (209 a.a.). The membrane-bound isoform can be proteolytically cleaved to generate a biologically active soluble isoform. Recombinant Murine Flt3-Ligand is a soluble 18.6 kDa protein consisting of 163 amino acid residues.

Anti-LOXL3 Rabbit Polyclonal Antibody

Anti-LOXL3 Rabbit Polyclonal Antibody

Supplier: Prosci

This gene encodes a member of the lysyl oxidase gene family. The prototypic member of the family is essential to the biogenesis of connective tissue, encoding an extracellular copper-dependent amine oxidase that catalyses the first step in the formation of crosslinks in collagens and elastin. A highly conserved amino acid sequence at the C-terminus end appears to be sufficient for amine oxidase activity, suggesting that each family member may retain this function. The N-terminus is poorly conserved and may impart additional roles in developmental regulation, senescence, tumor suppression, cell growth control, and chemotaxis to each member of the family. Alternatively spliced transcript variants of this gene have been reported but their full-length nature has not been determined.

Anti-EGF Rabbit Polyclonal Antibody

Supplier: Genetex

The epidermal growth factor (EGF) family of receptor tyrosine kinases consists of four receptors, EGFR (ErbB1), ErbB2 (neu), ErbB3, and ErbB4. Members of the EGFR family contain 3 domains: an extracellular domain that is involved in ligand binding and receptor dimerization, a single transmembrane domain and a cytoplasmic domain. EGF exerts its actions by binding to the EGFR, a 170 kDa protein. Activation of EGFR initiates diverse cellular pathwaysIn response to toxic environmental stimuli, or to EGF binding to the receptor, the EGFR forms homo- or heterodimers with other family members. Each dimeric receptor complex initiates a distinct signaling pathway by recruiting different Src homology 2 (SH2) containing effector proteins.
