Anti-GRIN2B Rabbit Polyclonal Antibody

Anti-GRIN2B Rabbit Polyclonal Antibody

Supplier: Prosci

The NMDA receptor (NMDAR) plays an essential role in memory, neuronal development and it has also been implicated in several disorders of the central nervous system including Alzheimer’s, epilepsy and ischemic neuronal cell death (Grosshans et al., 2002; Wenthold et al., 2003; Carroll and Zukin, 2002). The rat NMDAR1 (NR1) was the first subunit of the NMDAR to be cloned. The NR1 protein can form NMDA activated channels when expressed in Xenopus oocytes but the currents in such channels are much smaller than those seen in situ. Channels with more physiological characteristics are produced when the NR1 subunit is combined with one or more of the NMDAR2 (NR2 A-D) subunits (Ishii et al., 1993). Phosphorylation of Tyr1252 is thought to potentiate NMDA receptor-dependent influx of calcium (Takasu et al., 2002).

Anti-GRINA Rabbit Polyclonal Antibody (HRP (Horseradish Peroxidase))

Supplier: Bioss

Glutamate receptors mediate most excitatory neurotransmission in the brain and play an important role in neural plasticity, neural development and neurodegeneration. Ionotropic glutamate receptors are categorized into NMDA receptors and kainate/AMPA receptors, both of which contain glutamate-gated, cation-specific ion channels. Synaptic and extrasynaptic NMDA receptors have been shown to have opposite effects on neuronal survival, CREB function and gene regulation. As one of the four major proteins of the NMDA receptor ion channel, GRINA (Glutamate [NMDA] receptor-associated protein 1), also designated NMDA receptor glutamate-binding subunit or putative MAPK-activating protein PM02, is a 371 amino acid multi-pass transmembrane protein. Due to the chromosomal location of the gene encoding GRINA, studies have linked possible GRINA involvement with a form of idiopathic generalized epilepsy.

Anti-H2AFX Rabbit Polyclonal Antibody

Anti-H2AFX Rabbit Polyclonal Antibody

Supplier: Rockland Immunochemical

Histone H2A.X (phospho S139) antibody is ideal for western blotting and ELISA. Histones play a central role in transcription regulation, DNA repair, DNA replication and chromosomal stability. DNA is wrapped around histone-groups, consisting of the core histones H2A, H2B, H3 and H4. As a reaction on DNA Double-strand breaks (DSB) H2AX becomes phosphorylated on serine 139, called gamma-H2AX. ATM, ATR and PRKDCs, kinases of the PI3-family, are responsible for this phosphorylation. The modification can happen accidentally during replication fork collapse, exogenous genotoxic agents, may also occur during meiotic recombination events and immunoglobulin class switching in lymphocytes, in the response to ionizing radiation but also during controlled physiological processes such as V(D)J recombination. Mutagenesis experiments have shown that the modification is necessary for the proper formation of ionizing radiation induced foci in response to double strand breaks, but is not required for the recruitment of proteins to the site of DSBs. Gamma-H2AX is a sensitive target for looking at DSBs in cells. Dephosphorylation of Ser-140 by PP2A is required for DNA DSB repair. The role of the phosphorylated form of the histone in DNA repair is under. Anti-H2AX pS139 is ideal for researched interested in Histones, DNA Damage and Repair, and Epigenetics.

Anti-GRIN1 Rabbit Polyclonal Antibody

Anti-GRIN1 Rabbit Polyclonal Antibody

Supplier: Prosci

NMDA receptors are members of the ionotropic class of glutamate receptors, which also includes Kainate and AMPA receptors. NMDA receptors consist of NR1 subunits combined with one or more NR2 (A-D) or NR3 (A-B) subunits. The ligand-gated channel is permeable to cations including Ca2+, and at resting membrane potentials NMDA receptors are inactive due to a voltage-dependent blockade of the channel pore by Mg2+. NMDA receptor activation, which requires binding of glutamate and glycine, leads to an influx of Ca2+ into the postsynaptic region where it activates several signaling cascades, including pathways leading to the induction of long-term potentiation (LTP) and depression (LTD). NMDA receptors have a critical role in excitatory synaptic transmission and plasticity in the CNS. They govern a range of physiological conditions including neurological disorders caused by excitotoxic neuronal injury, psychiatric disorders and neuropathic pain syndromes.

Anti-SAA Mouse Monoclonal Antibody [clone: 607]

Supplier: Genetex

The serum amyloid A family comprises a number of differentially expressed apolipoproteins, acute-phase SAA1 and SAA2, the former being the major component in plasma and constitutive SAAs. Although the liver is the primary site of synthesis of both SAA types extrahepatic production has been reported. The in vivo concentrations increase by as much as 1000 fold during inflammation. Several studies have expressed its importance in the diagnosis and monitoring of various diseases. Pathological SAA values are often detected in association with normal CRP concentrations; SAA rises earlier and more sharply than CRP. Recently, a broader view of SAA expression and function has been emerging. Expression studies show production of SAA proteins in histologically normal, atherosclerotic, Alzheimer, inflammatory, and tumour tissues. SAA has been found to have binding sites for high density lipoproteins, calcium, laminin, and heparin/heparin sulphate. Also adhesion motifs were identified and new functions affecting cell adhesion, migration, proliferation, and aggregation were discovered. These findings emphasize the importance of SAA in various physiological and pathological processes including inflammation, atherosclerosis, thrombosis, AA-amyloidosis, rheumatoid arthritis, and neoplasia. SAA has also a number of immunomodulatory roles, it can induce chemotaxis and adhesion molecule expression, has cytokine-like properties and can promote the upregulation of metalloproteinases. It enhances the binding of high density lipoprotein to macrophages and thus helps in the delivery of lipids to sites of injury for use in tissue repair, it is thus thought to be an integral part of the disease process.

Anti-BDNF Mouse Monoclonal Antibody [clone: 4C8]

Anti-BDNF Mouse Monoclonal Antibody [clone: 4C8]

Supplier: Biosensis

BDNF belongs to the neurotrophin family and promotes the survival of neuronal populations that are all located either in the central nervous system or directly connected to it. It is a major regulator of synaptic transmission and plasticity at adult synapses in many regions of the CNS. The versatility of BDNF is emphasized by its contribution to a range of adaptive neuronal responses including long-term potentiation (LTP), long-term depression (LTD), certain forms of short-term synaptic plasticity, as well as homeostatic regulation of intrinsic neuronal excitability. The alterations in BDNF expression induced by various kinds of brain insult including stress, ischemia, seizure activity and hypoglycemia, may contribute to some pathologies such as depression, epilepsy, Alzheimer's, and Parkinson's disease. Microglia release BDNF that may contribute to neuroinflammation and neuropathic pain. SUBUNIT: Monomers and homodimers. Binds to NTRK2/TRKB. SUBCELLULAR LOCATION: Secreted protein. POst translation modification: Converted into mature BDNF by plasmin (PLG). SIMILARITY: Belongs to the NGF-beta family. Antibody reacts with human, mouse, rat, guinea pig BDNF. Expected to detect BDNF from other species due to sequence homology.

Protein kinase C inhibitor (IC50 = 50-200 µM depending on assay conditions in MCF-7 cells or IC50 = 100 µM in rat brain). The PKC inhibition is also dependent on the phosopholipid concentration. Also inhibits both calmodulin-dependent and calmodulin-independent Ca2+-, Mg2+-ATPase. Tamoxifen is a selective estrogen response modifier (SERM), anti-angiogenetic factor. It is a prodrug that is metabolized to active metabolites 4-hydroxytamoxifen (4-OHT) and endoxifen by cytochrome P450 isoforms CYP2D6 and CYP3A4. In breast cancer, the gene repressor activity of tamoxifen against ERBB2 is dependent upon PAX2. Blocks estradiol-stimulated VEGF production in breast tumor cells.
Tamoxifen has been used to facilitate the recombination of ect2flox allele in mouse organs. It has also been used to study its effect on lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-induced microglial activation
Tamoxifen is a Protein kinase C inhibitor. It induces apoptosis in human malignant glioma cell lines. Tamoxifen and its metabolite 4-hydroxytamoxifen are selective estrogen response modifiers (SERMs) that act as estrogen antagonists in mammary gland. Blocks estradiol-stimulated VEGF production in breast tumor cells.

Anti-ADAM15 Rabbit Polyclonal Antibody

Anti-ADAM15 Rabbit Polyclonal Antibody

Supplier: Prosci

ADAM15 is a member of the ADAM (a disintegrin and metalloproteinase) protein family. ADAM family members are type I transmembrane glycoproteins known to be involved in cell adhesion and proteolytic ectodomain processing of cytokines and adhesion molecules. This protein contains multiple functional domains including a zinc-binding metalloprotease domain, a disintegrin-like domain, as well as a EGF-like domain. Through its disintegrin-like domain, this protein specifically interacts with the integrin beta chain, beta 3. It also interacts with Src family protein-tyrosine kinases in a phosphorylation-dependent manner, suggesting that this protein may function in cell-cell adhesion as well as in cellular signaling. The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the ADAM (a disintegrin and metalloproteinase) protein family.
