IBI provides a variety of premixed buffers in various configurations
TAE buffer is commonly used in low voltage DNA electrophoresis applications. Potential advantages of TAE over TBE buffers include superior resolution of supercoiled DNA and slightly faster migration of double-stranded linear DNA fragments. IBI offers TAE buffer as a concentrated solution or in a Buffer Ready Pouch. The 10X TAE buffer is composed of 0.4M Tris, 0.4M Acetate, and 0.1M EDTA at pH 8.3. SSPE Buffer is formulated for use in nucleic acid hybridization applications. The 20X SSPE buffer is composed of 3.0M sodium chloride, 0.2M sodium phosphate, and 0.02M EDTA at pH (25°C) 7.25. Phosphate Buffered Saline is ideal for use in sample preparations and as a wash buffer in general immunoassay applications. PBS can also be used in tissue and cell culture procedures. IBI's PBS solution is a modified Dulbecco buffer that does not contain calcium or magnesium. IBI offers PBS buffer in a 10X concentrated solution at pH 6.6-7.2.
MOPS is a zwitterionic buffer ideally suited for RNA electrophoresis in agarose gels. Having a buffering range from 6.5-6.7, MOPS works well in formaldehyde gels at a concentration of 20nM. DEPC is added to ensure the buffer is nuclease contamination free. IBI offers MOPS in a crystalline powder and 10X concentrated solution. Tris-Glycine Buffer is used for polyacrylamide electrophoresis. It can be used in both native and denaturing (SDS) polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis of proteins. The versatility of Tris-Glycine Buffer enables the accurate separation of proteins in the range of 5-500kDa. The 10X Tris-Glycine buffer yields a final concentration of 0.025M Tris and 0.192M Glycine with or without 0.1% SDS at pH (25°C) 8.5.
TBE buffer has a significantly greater buffering capacity (relative to TAE) and eliminates the need for recirculation in all but the most extended runs. IBI offers TBE buffer as a concentrated solution or in a Buffer Ready Pouch. The 10X TBE Buffer is composed of 0.890M Tris, 0.890M Boric Acid, and 0.020M EDTA at pH 8.3.
