The variable coil electromagnet has 6 different coil options:100, 200, 300, 400, 500 and 600 coils. A steel hook underneath gives students the opportunity to measure the strength of the magnetic field generated by varying different number of coils. It also allows study into Ohm's Law, if a constant voltage is applied to each coil the measure current will drop as the number of coils increase. Includes a variable coil electromagnet and a 5 Newton spring scale. Required but not included is a 12 V power supply.
