About this item
Hamilton offers the most comprehensive selection of standard and custom syringes in the industry
Each is manufactured to achieve the highest level of accuracy and precision possible. Hamilton Neuros™ syringe technology provides unprecedented functionality for controlled animal injections. An industry first, the Neuros™ accurately dispenses 50 nL to 100 μL of liquid through an ultrafine 30, 32, or 33 gauge needle protected by a custom-designed sleeve. Developed specifically for the neurosciences, the Neuros minimizes injection site damage by increasing needle rigidity and delivering a microvolume of liquid to an exact location.
Neuros™ syringes are crafted to have very little to no dead volume which preserves the maximum amount of buffer and solution. Neuros™ syringes feature two different needle sleeves. The sleeve with a blind stop is perfect for cannulated applications and ensures targeted administration with an adjustable penetration depth. The version without a blind stop works best with stereotaxic holders. Both types provide an adjustable needle exposure of 0 to 20 mm and offer compatibility with most infusion pumps and stereotaxic holders.
Syringes in this category are either 700 or 7000 series Microliter™ or 1700 series Gastight® syringes. Microliter™ syringes have a stainless steel plunger that is hand fitted to the glass barrel and are designed for liquid sampling. Gastight® syringes have a PTFE plunger tip that creates tight connection between the syringe barrel and plunger allowing for liquid or gas sampling. The fluid path for 7000 Series Microliter™ syringes includes SST and tungsten; 700 Series Microliter™ syringes include SST and borosilicate glass; and 1700 Series Gastight® syringes include SST, borosilicate glass, and PTFE.
Removable Needle (RN)- The needles are removable and are a Hamilton-specific design. The design allows the needles to seat precisely at the zero graduation mark of the syringe. Users can select the needle gauge, length, and point style to optimize the syringe for custom applications. Additionally, this termination allows for a removable needle without increasing the dead volume of the syringe and is ideal when there is a risk of the needle clogging. Autoclavable when disassembled. Repeated autoclaving will shorten syringe life. Knurled Hub (KH)- The knurled hub is used exclusively on 7000 series syringes. The hub handles up to 6000 psig maximum injection pressure. The needle is removable but with a limited number of gauges available because the plunger is fitted inside the needle. Autoclavable when disassembled. Repeated autoclaving will shorten syringe life.
Point Style 3 - Blunt needle point suited for neuroscience applications.
