Scalpel handles are tagged with numbers to denote the size and type of the blades that are compatible with the handle. The scalpel handle #3 is usually used with smaller blades that have a curved cutting edge, like the #10 or #15 replaceable surgical blades. It can also be with the pointed #11 blade. These handles and blade work well for microdissection or fine surgeries when making precise incisions.

The scalpel handle #4 is a little larger and heavier than the #3. It gives you more control and the ability to apply more force. The #4 scalpel handle is often used with larger blades like the #20, #21, #22, #23, #24, and #25 blades. These blades have a similar shapes as the blades used with the #3 handle, but the blades are larger in size.
A scalpel handle #7 is a smaller handle designed for precision and fine detail work. It is commonly used in ophthalmology, microdissection, and delicate procedures. The #7 handle is typically used with small, pointed blades, such as the #11 blades, which are ideal for making small incisions and performing precise cuts in delicate tissues. The #7 handle can also be used with the #10 and #15 blades.
Our handles have a textured gripping surface for a firm hold. These handles are manufactured from surgical grade stainless steel or premium German steel, both of which are suitable for autoclaving or chemical sterilization. As we recommend for all fine surgical instruments, be sure to clean your handles promptly when you finish using them. Dispose of used blades as your lab requires.
