Glove box features inlet and outlet HEPA filters (99.99% efficiency on 0.3µm particulates) and provides a leak-tight physical barrier to protect the operator from hazardous airborne particulates and powders
Unit has an interior ceiling-mounted electrical duplex receptacle with 5A maximum (100/115V model) or 2A maximum (230V model) circuit load, and includes switches for the light and innermost interior electrical receptacle. Glove box is factory leak tested with a mass spectrometer while pressurized with helium at 2.5cm (1") of water gauge. No leaks greater than 1x10-3 mL/sec. were detected with 0.05ppm average tracer gas levels or less detected during perimeter scan testing.
Glove box also features a built-in blower with speed control capable of airflow from 13 to 100cfm, a main chamber static pressure gauge for monitoring HEPA filter loading, and vibration dampening that allows less than 1.5x10-5in. displacement measured at the work surface at both minimum and maximum airflow volumes.
Airborne particulate cleanliness (measured under positive and negative pressures per ISO 14644-1 test method) exceeds ISO Class 5 (FED-STD-209E Class 100/M3.5) conditions and achieved ISO Class 3 (FED-STD-209E Class 1/M1.5) conditions at both minimum and maximum operational airflow volumes.
The 115V model is ETL listed with UL 3101-1/61010-1 and CAN/CSA C22.2 No. 1010.1 conformity. The 230V model is CE marked.
The unit is constructed with a dry powder, epoxy-coated steel superstructure; 0.6cm (1/4") thick laminated safety glass viewing window with powder-coated steel frame and neoprene gasket; and molded, one-piece, medium-density, polyethylene shell. The cutout area is 67Wx31.8Hcm (2613/32x121/2") high, and the window can be easily removed for loading equipment. The space saving inner and outer transfer chamber doors pivot upward and are counterbalanced and equipped with quick latches. The interlocking shelf of the interior transfer chamber is made of dry powder, epoxy-coated steel. The black, chemical-resistant phenolic core work surface is sealed to the glove box floor.
