Devices indicate the lowest temperature of utility for petroleum products
Mechanically refrigerated units feature multiple four-jacket baths, each preset at a different temperature for convenient cloud and pour point testing. Bench models have three baths, set at –1, –18, and –35°C (30, 0, and –30°F). Floor models have four baths, set at –1, –18, –35, and –51°C (30, 0, –30, and –60°F). Each bath has a phenolic top plate with ports for a thermometer and four test jackets. Synthetic sponge top plate covers and gasketed bath hoods deter ice accumulation. Bath cabinet and interior are constructed of stainless steel. Floor models ride on swivel casters.
The cloud and pour point chamber immerses four copper test jackets in suitable freezing mixtures, providing inlet and outlet connections for circulating refrigerated coolant from an external source. Consists of steel exterior housing with polyurethane enamel finish and all-copper interior for corrosion resistance. Removable top plate and 13mm (1/2") cork insulation aid in cold retention.
