Automate solvent-free solid phase micro extraction (SPME) sample preparation by performing sample extraction and enrichment in a single step using Thermo Scientific™ SPME Arrow and SPME Fiber products. These products are used with the Thermo Scientific™ TriPlus RSH™ autosampler prior to gas chromatography (GC) or gas chromatography mass spectrometry (GC/MS) analysis.

The SPME Arrow and Fiber products are designed for volatile and semi-volatile compounds having a large range of boiling point and polarity. This sample preparation technique is ideal for ultra-trace and trace GC and GC/MS analysis of solid, liquid, or gas samples from environmental, food, clinical, and forensic industries.

The SPME Arrow and Fiber comprise a thin fused-silica fiber coated by an organic phase. They extract and concentrate analytes by ab- or adsorption and desorption processes. The fiber is successively thermally desorbed into a GC injector and the analytes are transferred to the analytical column. Selecting SPME Fiber or SPME Arrow depends on hardware compatibility and which product is used in your validated laboratory method.
