Polypropylene plates are manufactured from high-quality virgin polypropylene, are autoclavable to 121 °C (250 °F), and are resistant to a wide variety of chemicals, including phenols, chloroform, and DMSO. Plates are compatible with most robotic samplers and automated liquid handling systems. Polypropylene plates withstand temperatures as low as –80 °C (–112 °F) and are suitable for cryo-storage. Polystyrene plate withstands temperatures as low as –20 °C (–4 °F), making it suitable for cold room applications. Wells are alphanumerically labeled and have notched corners to facilitate orientation in automated systems.
